Why do you need my checking or saving account information?

Linking your checking or savings account to your Capital One Investing℠ account makes it easy to put money into your Capital One Investing account. It's free to create this link and deposit into your Capital One Investing account.

Your Capital One Investing account can only be linked to one checking or savings account. To link your Capital One Investing account to either a checking or savings account, you'll need to provide the following information:

  • Bank Name – The name of your bank, credit union or financial institution.
  • Type of Account – Your Capital One Investing account can be linked to most checking or savings accounts, but there are some restrictions. A link cannot be established with checking accounts that are connected to a money market account. Also, some financial institutions do not allow a link to be established with a savings account.
  • Routing Number – Sometimes referred to as an ABA number, this is generally the first nine numbers on your check. Some financial institutions use a different routing number for electronic transfers, so please check with your financial institution if you are unsure.
  • Checking/Savings Account Number – The account number for your checking or savings account. Enter numbers only; do not use dashes or spaces.

You may change the checking or savings account on file with us at any time. Any deposits made after the change are made from the account on record at the time of the request.
