What is a Traditional IRA?

A Traditional Individual Retirement Arrangement (IRA) is a type of investment account that lets individuals set aside a certain amount each year for retirement. Interest, dividends and capital gains in the account aren't taxed until the funds are withdrawn. In some cases, contributions to the account are tax-deductible. For specific information about Traditional IRAs, please consult a tax advisor and review IRS Publication 590.
